Word on the Street About the Bricks

Word on the street is that while the deadline for second wave bricks is January 31st 2006, that you can still get your orders in during the first few days of January 2007. This is certainly correct as the Village Office will be closed for the New Year's Holiday and the MSP volunteers, like any other Trumansburg resident, will be out celebrating the coming of the new year. However, the MSP does strongly encourage brick buyers to have the order forms in by December 31st 2006! The MSP and Village want to help folks get as many bricks possible, but will have to cut-off orders in order to expedite the engraving process.

don't know where this should go.... either typo or very bad sentense structure [in brackets]

TCAT is encouraging the Village to make the bus stops more unique and attractive while working within TCAT specifications. [Better bus stops encourage less cars on the road which makes Trumansburg not pedestrian friendly, but also environmentally sustainable.]

and a comment - what is the state of play, regarding the bus stops - they appear to be just the same as they were before the project

Hi anonymous,

Thanks for your feedback on the blog and for catching the typo! It was serious, indeed!

As for your bus stop question...new bus stops were not a part of the bids covered in this phase of construction. Maybe you are aware, but the project's entire goal is to have renovations running from end to end of the Village. However, there wasn't enough money to make the entire plan possible. Hence, the work that happened this summer included the base bid plus parts of ad alternate 1. The base bid compromised all the work in the Village's downtown and the ad alternate included the new sidewalks by the highschool.

The MSP Advisory Committee is still interested in working with TCAT and vounteers to design new bus stops for the Village. However, there is no new information on this initiative. The committee hopes to get working on that by early spring 2007.

Hope this helps.

Hi (again) anonymous,

I just realized you meant an error on the MSP website and not the blog. Hence...

Thanks for your feedback on the website! It has been corrected.
