Stone Seats on Site

The arched stone seats for the bank plaza arrived today, along with a small crew to install them. The stones will create a curved stone bench for the bank plaza. This is in hopes to further welcome people to the plaza as a place of community gathering.

several comments regarding the stone 'seats'

If the purpose of the MSP was to bring character into the area, then the slabs of rock fall woefully short. They are just plain ugly and jar the senses. The wrought-iron seat by the library or the old garden seat outside Gimmi represent charm and character.

A plaza by the bank and the other areas where these rocks have been placed are meant to be areas where people will gather to chat - Sadly I really do not see these being used by the elder generation.

Hi anonymous,

Thanks for your feedback. I am sorry that you feel the stone seating by the bank is "just plain ugly." I have forwarded your comment to the MSP design committee who may consider options like the ones you described. If you feel strongly about design issues that you may also volunteer with the design committee on future decisions.

If you would like a follow up on this forward then feel free to post again to the blog and/or contact us directly.
